It Worked Very Well for Me

One morning I was browsing the web and got a pop-up from an alleged legit source saying an update was available, so I clicked on it and let it go through it’s motions. Suddenly my Safari was completely hijacked and unusable from “fixmymac” and other types of things; it blocked out Safari completely. So I went to the Mac forums and could not find anything to resolve it. I checked different sources like YouTube and such for walk throughs and nothing. One site kept coming up, but it was not on the App Store so I was leery that they might be in cahoots with the people who put the malware on my computer in the first place.

Anyway, I tried EVERYTHING available on-line by following instructions and everything else. Nothing.

With hesitation, I downloaded this program thinking the cure may be worse than the illness. I downloaded based on the number and scale of reviews.

I’m pleased to say that on the first sweep it got everything that was plaguing my Safari. I AM very cautious about downloading ANYTHING onto my computer and this was brought in through a legit program (I want to say it was Flash Player).

Anyway, this solved it. I spent 3 hours trying myself before downloading this and this took 2 minutes and it was all gone. This is the first time I’ve EVER had such a problem with my Mac.

My Firefox browser seemed unaffected, but it completely disabled my Safari.

Either way, it’s fixed and I’m glad to know I’ve got it now.
