I have webroot and i bought this app and it put a lot of viruses on my MAC its not worth th $10

I received notification from my internet provider that their system picked up a possible virus behind our cable modem called “FakeSecSen” or “Spy Sheriff.” Immediately after that notification, our internet connectability went down dramatically - slowing to a crawl - to the point that I couldnt use it. I was in a panic to find a solution - I couldnt go online to download a program so I started searching the Apple Apps store and found this app. After it installed I ran through all of the sweeping option - restarted my computer - and it works perfectly. Thank you for resolving my issue with this app!!

So, I bought a refurbished macbook pro from this electronic computer repair shop for cheap, completely unaware that the virus protection might not be up to par with a new macbook straight off the shelf. I used to download music, play games, watch free movies on sketchy websites and all kinds of things and never onced experienced any issues with my old mac, so I assumed I’d have a similar experience with this one. WRONG. I clicked on a link on Facebook that said I could play Super Mario World as a browser game. I knew better, but I don’t know what drove me to click that thing. Anyway, I’ve had adware and tons of pop-ups for a couple of months now, thinking that there was really no solution for macs. I finally decided to check the app store and this is what came up. With so few reviews and ratings, I was really skeptical on whether it would work or not, but I was desparate to make my laptop run the way it used to. Sure enough, it actually worked. It shows you where all the adware and malware files are that the program can’t delete and you trash them on your own Everything else, it removes automatically. Not only did I lose all of the annoying ads and make my web browser faster, but the overall performance speed of my laptop increased, as if it were new (sort of) again. After I restarted my macbook, it was as if the last couple of months never even happened. I’m honestly surprised that it worked, and if anyone is currently in a similar situation, I recommend using this program, it’s cheap enough and makes life a little easier.

I had a few stubborn adware programs that I couldn’t seem to find and remove on my own, and some weird things going on with Firefox. One run of Sweepr and they were gone. It was fast and simple to run and seems to have worked fine and was worth $10 to get rid of the annoyance. The only reason to not give 5 stars is that I’ve only used for a short time and haven’t yet tested on everything.

I remember the days when there were basically no viruses for the Mac. Well, I’ve been remiss in living in that past for too long. Needless to say, I clicked on something or whatever that totally hijacked my Safari. I couldn’t get rid of the constant pop-ups no matter how fast I hit Command-W. So, I started planning a backup of my key documents, music and photos, in advance of a complete system wipe and install. Then, I found this app. I spent the $10 bucks and, I’m not kidding, less than 5 minutes later I had my old Safari back. All fixed. This app is exactly what I needed and, in my opinion, does more than it promises. Absolutely worth the cost.

Didn’t remove any adware, in fact deleted all my pinned sites on Safari. A waste of money from!

I’ve been having issues with my mac and it being infected with malware and viruses for the past couple of months. I have tried multiple malware removal services and it only band aided the issue. However, I just downloaded this and LITERALLY within minutes my mac is back to normal. Defnitely worth the $10 I spent on it.

All my malware issues are gone after 5 minutes. Stop searching and use this app, will solve your adware issues and will make your broweser work properly!

I have an iMac 21.5 inch late 2013 model using the latest version of EL Capitan. When I first purchased the Sweeper App it appeared to be working. However, early on it started to crash every time I attempted to perform a function in the App. While the App worked on my MacBook Pro Retina 13” (late 2015 model) it has failed to work on the iMac. I sent an e-mail with the error message attached, regarding the crashing problem to the developer as provided for in the App, but have not received either an acknowledgment or advice on how to fix the problem. I would not recommend this App to anyone who owns an Apple computer. The App’s customer service is basically non-responsive. Apple should remove this App from the Apple Store until they are assured that the App developer actually provides customer support as promised and has resolved the crashing problem that exists in the App. Don’t buy this App. You might be wasting your money.

I downloaded and installed an extension on safari and it installed huge amounts of adware. It was causing adds to pop up on Google, as well as constantly causing Safari to be redirected. Literally with in moments of running sweeper the adware was gone the redirecting stopped and my Mac is running amazingly.

One morning I was browsing the web and got a pop-up from an alleged legit source saying an update was available, so I clicked on it and let it go through it’s motions. Suddenly my Safari was completely hijacked and unusable from “fixmymac” and other types of things; it blocked out Safari completely. So I went to the Mac forums and could not find anything to resolve it. I checked different sources like YouTube and such for walk throughs and nothing. One site kept coming up, but it was not on the App Store so I was leery that they might be in cahoots with the people who put the malware on my computer in the first place. Anyway, I tried EVERYTHING available on-line by following instructions and everything else. Nothing. With hesitation, I downloaded this program thinking the cure may be worse than the illness. I downloaded based on the number and scale of reviews. I’m pleased to say that on the first sweep it got everything that was plaguing my Safari. I AM very cautious about downloading ANYTHING onto my computer and this was brought in through a legit program (I want to say it was Flash Player). Anyway, this solved it. I spent 3 hours trying myself before downloading this and this took 2 minutes and it was all gone. This is the first time I’ve EVER had such a problem with my Mac. My Firefox browser seemed unaffected, but it completely disabled my Safari. Either way, it’s fixed and I’m glad to know I’ve got it now.

I would prefer to have more information about what is being cleaned up by the app. At least a log of the files etc that were flagged and removed.

This app was exactly what I needed. I had a virus or something on my computer and recieved endless pop ups. After downloading this app and using it, it fixed my macbook air. I never thought that the day would come that viruses would affect apple products, but now that its here, It’s great to have a simple app like this. Instead of paying $40-$200 dollars with the geek squad and having them being barely helpful, I only paid a worthy $10 from apple directly, so I knew that the download was safe and trustworthy.

It was great in that it found some of the malicious files that I couldn’t find, but my laptop still remained infected after two scans and restarts. It was infected by an external hard drive I connected to my Macbook. The hard drive was previously used by a PC user who once had some sort of issues of their own (yes, yes, I should have known better). I ultimately went to the Genius Bar and they took care of the problem.

This app performed great and cleaned my browsers as promised. It turned out that I had malware on my computer as well and the developer of this app was very helpful and responsive via support in pointing me in the right direction to a product that also cleaned the malware off my computer. Thank you so much!

I had adware/malware on my mac messing with my safari and chrome. Clicking anywhere on a page hijacked me to another tab. My anti virus was even blocked from updating (Trend Micro Internet Security). I could find nothing on google that would help. I found this on the app store with good reviews (although not vary many). Best $9.99 purchase this week. Everything was fixed in 10 minutes. Now I am wondering why I pay for anti virus software.

It got rid of the adware garbage quickly and easily.

I was on a site and I clicked on a sponsored link that automatically infected my Safari browser with some virus malware. It was some tipe of Safari adware that was redirecting me to a website to buy useless things and then opened tons of popups that could not be closed from Safari. I needed this problem fixed quickly. I didn’t had the time to backup everything and move it and scan days and nights. This not only fixed the issues, but it fixed it in less than 2 minutes. It only took 2 minutes! It also has a lot of other cleaning tools (very useful I would say) like system cleaner, mail cleaner and many more. I downloaded this and Safari is fixed now!

This application performed great and cleaned my browsers as advertised. It turned out that I had a virus on my computer that was opening strange looking popups. The support team of the app was also very helpful and responsive and gave me some valuable tips. Thank you very much for your efforts. You rock!

Was having issues with Popups as well as selecting links within pages. This cleared all issues in short order. We will see if it lasts…
